Sister Evelin Calderon speaks on why Sigma Lambda Gamma was the RIGHT CHOICE for her

"I still remember the multicultural review of fall 2014 like it was yesterday, I saw three women of distinction and more than that I saw a sisterhood, passionate leaders, and a multicultural glow that divided these women from everyone else in the room. It was at this moment that I knew I wanted to be up on that stage with them. I wanted to be a part of this beautiful sorority for everything they stood for and because when I was with them - it felt like home. I realized that being in a multiculural sorority meant more than being from different ethnicities...it meant that every woman was unique and they all came together to form this beautiful glow. In the spring of 2015 I had the opportunity to become a sister of Sigma Lambda Gamma and it has brought many beautiful people and opportunities into my life, more than I could have ever imagined. In the fall of 2015 I had the opportunity to be up on that stage to perform in the annual multiculutral review."

Sister Leslie Orduna speaks on upcoming graduation and the impact Sigma Lambda Gamma has had on her life as an undergraduate

"Joining Sigma Lambda Gamma has been a true blessing to my life. The countless memories and freindships that are now a part of me are only in addition to the lifetime - nationwide sisterhood I have aquired. Being that I am a first generation college student Sigma Lambda Gamma gave me the resources I needed to confidently move forward with my education. The women of Phi Chapter guided me and implemented in me the characteristics I needed to become successful and PHABULOUS. Giving up was never an option for me and these women have made my undergraduate experience worth so much more than what it could have ever been. The strong, independent, confident, Phabulous women that came before me, were here with me, and that will come after me are a true testimony of Phi chapter. I am beyond grateful that I was given such an amazing opportunity, an opportunity to better myself  and all those around me. The sisterhood of SLG lives long after our time as an undergraduate comes to an end and I am so excited to see what my contributions as an alumni of WMU and PHI Chapter will bring."

wishing you all the best,

Huitzil #65 of the PHabulous PHI Chapter

"To see through the eyes of a panther...one must sarcrifice both day and night"

Slg has given me so many opportunities and opened up so many doors for me - personally and professionaly. Professionally SLG has helped me in the manner of incorporating our five founding principles; we were founded on Academics,

Community Service, Culturual Awareness, as well as Morals and Ethics. I can honestly say that each one of these princples can be applied to my lifestyle and go hand in hand with my major as a social worker. Personally SLG has heleped me to step out of my comfort zone, going from a super shy person to being more outspoken than before which has intern given me more confidence to believe in myself and to always strive to be a distinct woman. One thing I always keep in mind is that these letters dont make me better than anyone else they make me better than who I used to be. Its something about wearing my letters that fills me with pride and makes me stand up a little taller and stronger. SLG is a sisterhood that helps to motivate and enourage you through the support and help of strong women which I consider to be role models. The consistency of power and influence these women exute shows me that as an organization the standards of excellence continues to be implemented. It doesnt matter when you join, when we say "hermanas por vida" we mean it!
